FATs

Community Links

The school is very much an integral part of the local community. Parents and visitors are always welcome. In 2005 the school retained its Healthy Schools Award in recognition of its many activities that help to raise the awareness of a healthy lifestyle amongst its pupils.

We believe that the community is a rich resource for learning. Students are actively involved in local primary schools, the elderly, the under fives and people with disabilities. Thousands of pounds have been collected over the years for local charities, through a variety of fund-raising activities.

What is FATs

FATs is a PTA and is a hardworking group of people who contribute to the pupils at Archbishop Thurstan in a wide variety of ways. They take an active interest in looking at ways school life can me improved for all who participate in it.

This ranges from fund raising activities, through social events to ways the school can interact with the local community. All parents and guardians of students at the school are automatically members of the PTA and are encouraged to participate in its activities.
