A place of opportunity for all
Developing the potential of all students, regardless of ability, is of paramount importance at Archbishop Thurstan school, allowing pupils to achieve their goals and prepare them for opportunities post-16.
The development has been made possible by having a stable and committed staff. The school is proud of its links to the York Diocese and the fact that it is the only Church of England secondary school in the city that offers a distinctive Christian education. The school has a sound ethos, with an emphasis on the development of strong relationships between students, parents and the school.
Being one of the smaller secondary schools in the city the school is able to offer a supportive culture which enables it to treat the students as individuals. The school does not accept bullying, violence, or putting others down.
